Strataberry Fields is a vibrant Wild Specialty Beer that captures the essence of a rustic summer harvest. A delicate Belgian yeast strain provides a spicy, earthy backdrop for a bright medley of strawberries and raspberries. The inclusion of Strata hops amplifies the fruit profile with notes of tropical berries and citrus zest, while a hint of lemon adds a refreshing snap. Effervescent and bone-dry, this low-alcohol ale balances a gentle tartness with delicate herbal undertones. Appearance. Pale pinkish-gold (3–5 SRM) with a slight, rustic haze. Pours with a moderate white head that dissipates fairly quickly, leaving light, fleeting lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Bright aromatics of fresh strawberry and tart raspberry lead, followed by the citrusy, passionfruit-like character of Strata hops. Subtle Belgian yeast phenols provide a peppery, rustic spice, complemented by a faint lemony zing and very low, crackery malt.
Taste. Initial impression is tart and fruity. Flavors of under-ripe berries and lemon zest are prominent. Strata hops contribute a light tropical fruitiness and a very low, herbal bitterness. The Belgian yeast adds a dry, earthy complexity. Finishes very dry and crisp with a lingering, gentle tartness and a clean fruit aftertaste.
