Duration Brewing’s Lizard is a vibrant American IPA crafted in collaboration with Verdant Brewing Co, designed to showcase the lush potential of late-harvest hops. This expression utilizes Verdant’s yeast to provide a signature stone fruit ester profile that harmonizes perfectly with the unique Nelson Bliss hop addition. These specialized hops deliver an evolving sensory journey featuring ripe mango, pungent lychee, and bright citrus, grounded by a sophisticated white wine character. The beer maintains the structure of a modern American IPA with a supportive, grainy malt backbone, resulting in a hop-forward experience where tropical sweetness is masterfully balanced by a smooth, refreshing bitterness.

Appearance. Pours a hazy to opaque pale gold (6 SRM) with a thick, white, long-lasting creamy head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit notes of lychee and mango with bright citrus zest. Secondary notes of crushed white grapes and gooseberry are supported by a low, clean, grainy malt sweetness and moderate fruity esters reminiscent of apricot.

Taste. Bold initial impression of sweet tropical fruit including lychee, mango, and citrus peel. A distinct white wine vinous character emerges mid-palate. Low grainy-sweet malt provides a foundation for medium-high hop bitterness that is firm but smooth. It finishes medium-dry with a lingering fruity and resinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate carbonation and very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth with no harshness or astringency.
