Duncan’s Brewing Whippy IPA is a decadent, dessert-inspired Hazy IPA that captures the sensory essence of a mango lassi. The experience is defined by a dense core of sun-ripened mango and Madagascar vanilla, supported by a heavy hand of tropical fruity hops. This East Coast-style ale utilizes lactose to create a plush, velvety foundation that rounds out the intense hop profile. Aromas of succulent fruit and sweet cream lead into a flavor profile where juicy mango sweetness meets a soft, low-bitterness hop finish. Appearance. Pale orange with a golden hue (6-7 SRM) and a thick, opaque haze. The beer is topped with a dense, meringue-like white head with high retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with prominent notes of fresh mango and sweet vanilla. Supporting tropical hop characters of pineapple and passion fruit are evident. Malt is a quiet, grainy background, while lactose adds a subtle, milky sweetness. Clean fermentation profile with no significant esters or phenols.
Taste. Initial impression is an explosion of mango and creamy vanilla. High hop flavors of stone fruit and citrus mirror the aroma. Bitterness is low to medium-low, heavily masked by the residual sweetness of the lactose and fruit. The finish is medium-sweet and smooth, lingering with fruity hop oils and a soft, clean malt presence.
