Choc Top is a decadent American Stout that reimagines the classic soft-serve experience. This collaboration with Mr Whippy presents an intense sensory profile dominated by a triple-threat of chocolate: cocoa husk, cacao nibs, and cocoa powder. These ingredients create rich, bittersweet layers of dark chocolate and fudge, while a generous addition of vanilla and lactose mimics a creamy vanilla swirl. Despite the dessert-forward focus, the style's roasted grain character provides a coffee-like backbone. The result is a smooth and luscious pastry-inspired beer that balances American Stout bitterness against a velvety, ice-cream-like sweetness for a lingering, indulgent finish.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+). Topped with a large, persistent, creamy tan head that exhibits excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominant aromas of milk chocolate and dark cacao nibs are supported by a strong, sweet vanilla bean presence. Moderate roasted malt notes of espresso and toasted bread. Very low resinous hop aroma.

Taste. Initial impression is sweet and creamy chocolate. Prominent flavors of bittersweet cacao and fudge-like cocoa powder lead into a middle palate of vanilla and lactose sweetness. Moderate-high bitterness provides essential balance but is tempered by residual sugars. Low citrusy hop character. Finish is long and sweet with lingering dark chocolate.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notably high creaminess due to lactose. Moderate carbonation. Smooth alcohol warmth is integrated well. Very low roast-derived astringency.
