This Double IPA, a collaboration between DSSOLVR and Track, presents an intensely aromatic profile centered on Late Harvest Nelson Sauvin hops. The sensory experience is defined by a saturated bouquet of crushed white grapes, gooseberry, and passion fruit. A heavy-handed double dry-hopping regimen ensures a lush, tropical fruit character that dominates the palate. While the base provides a soft, grainy malt support, the focus remains on the complex New World hop oils. Expect a smooth, hazy texture that carries the high bitterness with grace, finishing dry with a lingering resonance of diesel and melon.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper color (7 SRM). Opaque with a heavy haze. Dense, persistent white to off-white head with significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by New World characteristics: white grape, passion fruit, and gooseberry from the Nelson Sauvin. Subtle background notes of tropical melon and a clean, grainy, neutral malt character. Very low fruity fermentation esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of white wine and tropical fruit. Strong and complex hop flavors of gooseberry and melon. High bitterness that is firm but smooth, lacking harshness. Clean, soft, and unobtrusive malt character with a light grainy flavor. Drier finish with a lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy texture. Moderate to medium-high carbonation. No hop-derived astringency. Noticeable but restrained and smooth alcohol warmth.
