Drop Project Railed
Railed is a vibrant Hazy IPA that captures the essence of modern hopping techniques. An intricate hop bill featuring Sabro, Citra, and Citra Cryo delivers a punchy opening of zesty lime and creamy coconut, while Ekuanot and Azacca contribute layers of ripe papaya and juicy pineapple. At 6% ABV, the beer presents a soft, pillowy texture that carries these tropical intensities with ease. The aromatic profile is a saturated melange of stone fruit and citrus, supported by a subtle, bready malt backbone. This expression highlights the juicy intent of the style, finishing with a smooth, restrained bitterness that invites another sip.
Appearance. SRM 4; deep straw to light gold. Opaque with a characteristic hazy shine; no visible particulates. Features a persistent, meringue-like white head with high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with dominant notes of pineapple, mango, and lime. Secondary notes of coconut and cedar are present alongside a subtle, stone fruit yeast ester. Low bready malt remains in the background.
Taste. High tropical fruit flavor, emphasizing papaya and grapefruit. Low, neutral malt sweetness provides a supportive base. Bitterness is low to medium-low and exceptionally smooth, never harsh. The finish is off-dry and fruit-forward with a lingering citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky texture. Carbonation is moderate. No hop-derived astringency or alcohol warmth is present; extremely smooth on the palate.
