Drop Project and Howling Hops deliver an intense tribute to the traditional Kriek, showcasing a vibrant and expressive sensory profile. This Fruit Lambic bursts with the essence of deep, fermented Kriek Cherry, balancing the lush fruit character against a clean, crisp lactic acidity. While the brewery describes it with imperial impact, the 5.5% ABV remains well-integrated, supporting a profile rich in bright red fruit and subtle funk. The experience is defined by its punchy, juice-forward nature, merging the wild complexity of a Belgian-style sour with a refreshing, modern tartness that lingers elegantly on the palate.

Appearance. Deep ruby to garnet red with a brilliant clarity that may show a soft, hazy shimmer from the fruit. A thick, mousse-like pinkish head forms quickly, displaying moderate retention and leaving fine lace.

Aroma. High intensity of sour fermented cherries dominates, offering a bright, tart fruitiness. Beneath the fruit, a moderate funk provides layers of hay and light earthy leather, complemented by a clean, sharp lactic acidity and no detectable hop aroma.

Taste. Initial impression is an assertive, punchy tartness of fresh Kriek cherries. The malt flavor is low, providing just enough structure for the fruit to shine. Fermentation character is clean and crisp with a puckering acidity that leads to a bone-dry finish. Bitterness is nearly absent, allowing the fruit's natural tannins and acidity to provide balance.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a lively, high carbonation that creates a sparkling sensation. A moderate to high tart, puckering quality is present without being harshly astringent, finishing with a crisp, refreshing snap.
