Drop Project Haze (Tate Collaboration)
This session-able Hazy IPA delivers a vibrant sensory performance, leading with an expressive tropical bouquet. Bright Mosaic hops unleash rich stone fruit aromas of peach and apricot, while Citra hops anchor the blend with a crisp, balanced bitterness. Azacca hops inject a wave of lush pineapple and mango complexity, further electrified by the addition of real Yuzu juice, which imparts a tangy, exotic citrus zip. Despite its modest strength, it offers a beautifully soft, velvety foundation that carries these intense, juicy elements effortlessly through to a clean, highly refreshing, and refreshing finish.
Appearance. Straw to light gold with a dense, persistent, meringue-like white head leaving intricate lacing. Uniform, opaque haze with a luminous, healthy shine, free of heavy particulates or yeast clumps.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma bursting with sweet peach and apricot from Mosaic, tropical mango and pineapple from Azacca, and a distinctive tangy, zesty yuzu and grapefruit citrus note. Supporting clean, lightly bready, and sweet doughy malt notes sit quietly in the background with minimal neutral fermentation esters.
Taste. An immediate splash of juicy stone fruit and tropical mango, seamlessly blending into a bright, tangy yuzu citrus punch. Citra hops provide a low to moderate, clean bitterness that perfectly balances the soft, low-intensity bready malt sweetness. The finish is remarkably clean and fruit-forward, without any harshness or grassy hop burn.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body, remarkably soft and smooth on the palate despite the lower ABV. Moderate carbonation creates a lively, refreshing texture without any harsh astringency or raw starch feel.
