Drop Project Franconia presents a refined take on the Munich Helles style, leaning into the rustic, unfiltered charm of a Zwickel Kellerbier. This collaboration emphasizes a deep, bready malt foundation derived from Continental Pilsner malt, delivering a rich, grainy sweetness that remains remarkably smooth on the palate. The aromatic profile is defined by gentle floral and spicy notes from traditional German hops, providing a delicate counterpoint to the malt-heavy core. Exceptionally drinkable, it balances a soft, rounded texture with a clean, restrained bitterness. The result is a classic Keller Lagerbier that captures the essence of a Bavarian powerhouse with an approachable and refreshing finish.
Appearance. Pale yellow to pale gold (3-5 SRM). Unfiltered with a slight haze consistent with the Zwickel style. Features a persistent, creamy white head with good lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a dominant grainy-sweet and bready malt character. Low to moderately-low spicy and floral hop aroma. Clean fermentation profile with no detectable esters or phenolics.
Taste. Moderately malty start with a suggestion of grainy sweetness and fresh bread. Hop flavor is low to moderately-low, presenting floral and herbal notes. Bitterness is restrained, providing just enough balance to keep the malt from being cloying. The finish is soft and dry, leaving a clean, malty aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, well-lagered character. Medium carbonation provides a gentle prickle, while the unfiltered nature contributes a slight creaminess. Low alcohol warmth.
