Drop Project

Down Shift is a vibrant alcohol-free American Pale Ale that defies its low gravity with a punchy aromatic profile. Utilizing a blend of Mosaic and Citra hops alongside a splash of yuzu, it offers a layered sensory experience. The yuzu provides a zesty citrus backbone, while the hops contribute high-intensity notes of grapefruit, tangerine, and juicy mango. A subtle undercurrent of pine provides a classic resinous contrast to the tropical passionfruit sweetness. Despite its ultra-light gravity, it maintains the character of a modern craft ale, delivering a crisp, dry finish that emphasizes refreshing citrus zest over heavy malt.

Appearance. Pale gold (4-6 SRM); hazy to opaque clarity; moderately large white head with fair retention and light lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of fresh lemon, grapefruit, and yuzu zest. Layered tropical notes of mango and passionfruit from the Mosaic and Citra hops, with a subtle piney resin in the background. Very low grainy-sweet malt character.

Taste. Leading with a sharp, zesty citrus impression of yuzu and tangerine. Hop flavors of grapefruit and mango dominate the mid-palate. Moderate bitterness provides a crisp structure against a very lean, grainy malt base. Fermentation is clean, leading to a dry and refreshing finish with a lingering citrus aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Light-bodied with high carbonation. No perceived alcohol warmth. Crisp and refreshing without any lingering astringency or heavy viscosity.
