Despite its accessible strength, this American IPA maintains a clean, crisp malt presence that allows the hop bitterness to shine. The finish is remarkably refreshing and dry, emphasizing the interplay between classic Pacific Northwest hops and modern fruit-forward varieties.
Appearance. Color is a clear, medium gold with a persistent, frothy white head that exhibits good retention and leaves fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit and orange zest, backed by floral blossoms and lemon. A spicy pine and resinous layer follows, with subtle tropical fruit and pithy lime. Malt is low and clean, offering a faint grainy sweetness with no esters.
Taste. Immediate hop flavor dominance with citrus, pine, and tropical fruits. The bitterness is firm and clean, supported by a low, grainy malt backbone with hints of toasted cracker. Fermentation is clean, leading to a very dry, crisp finish and a lingering hoppy, bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, enhancing the refreshing quality. No alcohol warmth or astringency is present.
