Invierno is a masterfully composed English Winter Ale that celebrates malt depth and seasonal warmth. Built on a sturdy foundation of biscuity Maris Otter, the grist incorporates Crystal 150 and Crystal 400 to deliver layers of rich toffee and dark caramel. Dark Munich and Chocolate malts provide a toasted, nutty complexity with a hint of cocoa, while the addition of oats ensures a smooth, velvety texture. The earthy and slightly resinous character of Columbus and Simcoe hops provides a necessary counterpoint to the ripe fruit notes of raisin and plum, resulting in a balanced, copper-hued ale with a perfectly integrated warmth.
Appearance. Deep copper with mahogany highlights (SRM 17-22). Brilliant clarity with a dense, persistent, off-white to light tan head that leaves consistent lacing on the glass.
