Thirst Contact is a trans-Tasman American IPA collaboration that bridges New Zealand and Australian hop artistry. Pouring a clear, deep gold, it leads with an intense aromatic profile of vibrant grapefruit and passionfruit, backed by softer honeydew melon notes. The strategic inclusion of corn flakes creates a lean, exceptionally crisp malt foundation that allows a sharp, piny dankness to cut through the palate with precision. At 6.6% ABV, the beer remains highly drinkable, finishing bone-dry with a firm, lingering bitterness. This is a bright, hop-forward expression that celebrates citrusy and tropical harvest traits in a clean, punchy format.
Appearance. Color is deep gold to light amber (SRM 7-10). Brilliant clarity with a persistent, medium-sized white head that leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit, passionfruit, and sweet honeydew melon. A supportive low, grainy malt sweetness is present, alongside a distinctive piny dankness. Clean fermentation profile with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward and bright. Flavors of grapefruit rind and tropical passionfruit dominate the mid-palate, supported by a light, grainy malt character. Medium-high to high bitterness is firm but clean. The finish is dry and crisp with a resinous, piny aftertaste that lingers.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, enhancing the dry finish. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being harsh.
