Double Vision Brewing

Luscious Loompa reimagines the traditional English Porter as a decadent chocolate orange treat. A complex malt bill featuring Biscuit, Brown, and Munich malts provides a bready, toasty foundation, while Eclipse and Light Chocolate malts offer deep cocoa depth. The addition of Jumbo Oats and lactose creates a velvety canvas for the vibrant infusion of pureed oranges and cacao nibs. The result is a nostalgic sensory experience where zesty citrus oils cut through rich, creamy chocolate notes. It balances the comforting roast of a classic dark ale with a bright, dessert-like finish that lingers with moreish sweetness.

Appearance. Deep dark brown (25-30 SRM) with brilliant ruby highlights. Topped by a dense, creamy, light tan head with excellent retention. Slight haze may be present from the addition of oats and fruit puree.

Aroma. High intensity aroma dominated by zesty orange oil and rich dark chocolate from the cacao nibs. Behind the fruit lies a complex malt profile of toasted biscuit, milk chocolate, and a hint of nutty malt. Low earthy hops and clean fermentation esters.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of sweet orange citrus followed by smooth milk chocolate. The grist contributes layers of toasted bread, caramel, and a soft nuttiness. Lactose provides a creamy sweetness that balances the mild, roasty bitterness of the chocolate malts. Finishes with a lingering chocolate-orange harmony that is sweet and clean.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a noticeably creamy, silky texture derived from the Jumbo Oats and lactose. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift. Very light alcohol warmth is well-integrated without astringency.
