This India Red Ale presents a striking ruby red hue, balancing a robust malt backbone with the assertive hop profile of an American IPA. Intense aromas of resinous pine and bright citrus are supported by a complex malt foundation featuring toasted bread and light caramel. The brewery’s unique house yeast contributes a layer of subtle fruity esters that enhance the depth of the hop character. On the palate, a firm bitterness of 60 IBU is well-integrated with the rich body, leading to a crisp, dry finish. It offers a medium body that carries flavors of grapefruit and floral notes against a backdrop of toasted grains.

Appearance. Deep ruby red color with copper highlights (15-18 SRM). Topped by a persistent, off-white to light tan head with excellent lacing. Clarity is clear to slightly hazy.

Aroma. High hop intensity featuring resinous pine, grapefruit, and citrus pith. Moderate malt character provides notes of toasted bread crust and light caramel. Low to moderate fruity esters from the house yeast add a layer of complexity to the hop-forward profile.

Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with a firm bitterness. Hop flavors of grapefruit and pine resin dominate, supported by a medium malt flavor of toasted grain and caramel sweetness. Fermentation character is clean but with a slight fruity ester presence. The balance is bitter, leading to a dry finish with a lingering resinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. A light, pleasant alcohol warmth is present, commensurate with the 6.5% ABV. Finishes with no significant astringency.
