Double-Barrelled Brewery

This Double IPA, a collaborative effort with Cloudwater, offers a saturated sensory experience defined by its complex, multi-stage dry-hopping. An aromatic explosion of white grape and passionfruit from Nelson Sauvin and Kohia Nelson leads the profile, while Mosaic and Galaxy contribute deep layers of ripe peach and melon. The palate is punchy and vibrant, showcasing citrus zest from Motueka against a clean, neutral malt backbone. Despite its described thick and full-bodied texture, it maintains the signature drinkability of the style, finishing with a firm bitterness and a smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth from its 8.2% strength.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM); thick, persistent off-white head with dense lacing; hazy to nearly opaque appearance typical of heavily dry-hopped modern versions.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring a complex 'fruit bowl' of passionfruit, white grape, crushed gooseberry, and stone fruit (peach/apricot). Low, neutral grainy malt character in the background with a clean fermentation profile.

Taste. High intensity hop flavors echoing the aroma, specifically peach, melon, and lime zest. A moderately high bitterness provides structure but remains smooth. The malt is supportive and clean, allowing for a medium-dry, hop-forward finish with a lingering tropical aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a creamy, thick texture. Moderate carbonation. Displays a noticeable but smooth and restrained alcohol warmth without being solventy or harsh.
