This complex Brett Beer presents a vibrant interplay of long-term barrel maturation and intense fresh fruit. Four years of bourbon barrel aging imparts a profound depth of funk, characterized by notes of wet hay and aged leather, which harmonizes with the bright, sharp acidity of wild raspberries. The inclusion of twenty percent fresh barrel-aged pale ale provides a crisp, structural lift to the finish. On the palate, the massive addition of raspberries delivers a concentrated berry tartness that cuts through the dry, attenuated body. Expect a sophisticated, multi-layered profile where earthy Brettanomyces meets the zesty, tannic snap of fruit skins and a subtle hint of barrel-derived vanillin.

Appearance. Hazy, ruby-red to deep pink hue; moderate to low pink-tinted head with fair retention and slight lacing.

Aroma. High intensity of fresh, jammy raspberries dominates, supported by moderate funk including notes of barnyard and wet hay from extended aging. Subtly sweet bourbon and oak undertones are present, with very low neutral malt character and no hop aroma.

Taste. Initial impression is sharply tart and fruity, leading into intense raspberry flavors and tannic berry skins. The Brett character is moderately funky and earthy, well-integrated with a very low cracker-like malt base. Finishes bone-dry and crisp with a lingering berry acidity; hop bitterness is low and secondary to the fruit tartness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with moderate to high carbonation that provides an effervescent sting. Low alcohol warmth is well-integrated, accompanied by a slight tannic astringency from the fruit skins.
