This non-alcoholic expression of an American IPA delivers a surprisingly robust sensory profile, driven by a vibrant hop combination of Idaho 7 and Citra. The aroma is dominated by high-intensity notes of tropical stone fruit and bright citrus zest, underpinned by a clean, bready malt foundation of pale barley and pale wheat. Despite the minimal alcohol content, the addition of flaked oats and carapils provides a smooth, medium-light body that avoids the watery thinness often found in the category. A specialized non-sac yeast ensures a clean fermentation character, allowing a firm, resinous bitterness to lead into a crisp and refreshing finish.
Appearance. Medium gold (7 SRM) with a slight haze from the wheat and oats. Supports a persistent, medium-sized white head with good lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pineapple, apricot, and mango from the Idaho 7, alongside grapefruit and lime from the Citra. Low, clean, grainy maltiness with a hint of white bread. Clean fermentation profile with very low fruity esters.
Taste. High hop flavors of tropical fruit and citrus peel dominate the palate. Low, grainy malt flavor provides a light cracker-like support. Medium-high bitterness is firm but clean, balancing the slight sweetness. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering hoppy and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture from the flaked oats. Medium-high carbonation provides a crisp bite. No alcohol warmth or astringency.
