Appearance. Deep gold to light copper (8-12 SRM). Maintains a moderately large, off-white head with good retention and lacing. Generally clear, though barrel maturation may provide a slight, brilliant sheen.
Aroma. High intensity; dominant American hop character featuring pine, grapefruit, and resin. These are complemented by secondary Marsala cask notes of vanilla, dark fruit, and a nutty, oxidative sweetness. Low toasted malt support and a noticeable, clean alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial burst of citrus and resinous hop flavor followed by a complex malt backbone. The Marsala influence introduces layers of raisin, spice, and soft oak tannins. Bitterness is moderate-to-high, effectively balancing the honey-like sweetness of the wood. The finish is warming and clean, with lingering hop oils and a dry aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, slightly velvety texture. Moderate carbonation. Significant alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, providing a pleasant glow without harshness or astringency.
