This Experimental Batch #34 reimagines the classic German Pils by infusing it with exotic lychee and aromatic black tea. The sensory experience begins with a vibrant burst of tropical fruit and floral perfume, where the lychee provides a juicy sweetness that melds seamlessly with the herbal, earthy depth of the tea. Beneath these botanical layers lies a clean, grainy base of Pilsner malt, offering a light, cracker-like foundation. As a German Pils, it maintains a structured bitterness enhanced by the subtle tannins of the tea, resulting in a crisp, dry, and exceptionally refreshing finish that invites another sip.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (3 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a creamy, persistent white head and fine lacing.
Aroma. Moderate-high intensity featuring dominant floral and tropical lychee notes supported by an herbal, slightly earthy black tea fragrance. Low grainy-sweet, doughy malt character provides a clean foundation. Fermentation is clean with no yeast esters.
Taste. Initial impression of bright lychee and floral tea quickly transitions to soft, cracker-like flavors from the Pilsner malt. Hop bitterness is firm and spicy, working in tandem with tea tannins to provide a crisp, very dry finish. The aftertaste is clean with lingering floral and herbal notes.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, refreshing texture. High carbonation. No alcohol warmth. A very slight, pleasant tannic astringency from the black tea contributes to the dry, flinty finish.
