Finisterra is an evocative American Porter that leans into its imperial strength with a commanding sensory presence. This deep, ink-like pour reveals a complex tapestry of roasted malt, delivering intense notes of dark chocolate and rich caramel. Echoing its name—the end of the known world—the palate is greeted by a robust interplay of espresso-like char and subtle dark fruit esters. The 8% ABV provides a smooth, integrated warmth that supports the firm bitterness, while the finish remains satisfyingly dry. It is a bold, dark journey defined by layers of toasted grains and a supporting earthy hop character.

Appearance. Very dark brown to nearly black (SRM 35-40), appearing opaque in the glass. It supports a thick, persistent tan head with excellent lacing and deep garnet highlights when held to a strong light.

Aroma. Moderate to high intensity of roasted grain, featuring prominent bittersweet chocolate and coffee notes. Underlying layers of caramel sweetness and subtle dark stone fruit esters are present, complemented by a low resiny and earthy hop aroma.

Taste. The initial impression is a wave of roasted malt and toasted bread, quickly followed by flavors of unsweetened cocoa and burnt sugar. Medium-high bitterness balances a light caramel malt sweetness, leading to a moderately dry finish. Faint dark fruit notes persist in the mid-palate, while a clean, resiny hop flavor lingers briefly in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a creamy, smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing a slight lift to the palate. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, reflecting its 8% strength without being harsh or fusel.

Desde Portugal llega esta Imperial Porter , clasica, robusta y profunda.

Elaborada con las maltas, Pale Ale, Munich, Carafa, Crystal, Malta Chocolate, Melanoidina, Cebada Tostada y Crystal Dark.

Su aroma tiene chocolate amargo, café tostado, higos secos y un ligero toque de regaliz.

A la vista un color negro opaco, espuma densa y persistente de color canela/marrón.

En boca es espesa y licorosa. Se percibe el dulzor de las maltas tostadas, equilibrado con un amargor terroso del lúpùlo.

Esta cerveza a sido ganadora de varias medallas en el Barcelona Beer Challenge y en otros certamenes europeos.

La cervecera Dois Corvos fué fundadda en el 2015 por Susana cascais y Scott Steffens, comenzando en Marvila (Lisboa).
