Designed as an aromatic and refreshing Straight Sour Beer, this collaboration with Brasserie du Lance-Pierre presents an elegant fusion of clean lactic acidity and delicate botanicals. A pale, effervescent pour carries prominent, soothing aromas of chamomile, soft linden, and fragrant orange blossom, which elevate the beer's natural, lemony ester profile. On the palate, a crisp, sharp lactic sourness is beautifully balanced by the herbal tea's subtle floral sweetness and a crackery pale malt backbone. This light-bodied kettle sour finishes remarkably clean and dry, offering a sophisticated, modern twist on a classic sour style.
Appearance. Very pale straw color (2-3 SRM). Clear to slightly hazy with a dense, white head of low-to-moderate retention. Highly effervescent with active carbonation.
Aroma. High intensity of clean, sharp lactic sourness. Dominant herbal and floral notes of honey-like chamomile, sweet linden, and highly fragrant orange blossom. Complimented by a light, crackery pale malt background and subtle fruity esters of green apple and lemon, with no hop aroma.
Taste. Immediate, clean, lemony lactic sourness dominates the palate. Mid-palate reveals delicate, dry herbal tea flavors of chamomile, linden, and citrusy orange blossom. Low, crackery pale malt flavor provides a brief structural support before yielding to an acidic, crisp, dry finish. Bittering hops are undetectable, leaving the balance entirely to the bright acidity and floral-herbal accents.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with a spritzy, highly carbonated effervescence. Crisp, clean acidity provides a sharp mouthwatering sensation, with a very subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth from the 6.5% ABV.
