Split the Tree is a vibrant Hazy IPA that captures the essence of modern juicy hop expression. Appearance. Straw to light amber (SRM 4-6) with a distinctive hazy, opaque shine. Topped with a medium-sized, white, meringue-like head featuring excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring a bouquet of tropical mango, guava, and stone fruit alongside bright citrus notes of grapefruit and orange. In the background, a clean, lightly bready malt character supports the fruit without any toast or caramel. Fermentation esters are fruity and well-integrated with the hop profile.
Taste. High fruity hop flavors mirroring the aroma with notes of pineapple, peach, and tangerine. The malt flavor is low to medium, providing a neutral, grainy, and soft base. Perceived bitterness is low to moderate, lacking any sharp or resinous bite. The finish is smooth and off-dry, leaving a lingering impression of tropical fruit juice.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture and a smooth mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate. A light, pleasant alcohol warmth is present but integrated, and there is no astringency or raw starch harshness.
