This unique Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer delivers a bold sensory experience centered on the sharp, aromatic zest of Ginger and the tropical sweetness of Pineapple. The initial nose is dominated by the bright, spicy punch of ginger, closely followed by succulent notes of sun-ripened pineapple. On the palate, the interplay of refreshing fruit and biting ginger gives way to a creeping, earthy heat from the Carolina Reaper chili, which provides a distinct back-palate tingle. Balanced by a moderate malt backbone, the finish is crisp yet lingeringly spicy, successfully bridging the gap between a refreshing fruit-forward ale and a warming pepper-infused specialty brew.
Appearance. Pale golden to light amber with a slight, natural haze. Pours with a moderate white head that shows fair retention, leaving light lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. High intensity. Immediate and pungent fresh ginger spice dominates, supported by sweet, juicy pineapple esters. A faint, earthy, and floral pepper aroma from the Carolina Reaper is present. Malt aroma is low, providing a neutral, grainy background.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of spicy ginger and tangy pineapple sweetness. The malt flavor is bready but subtle, allowing the adjuncts to lead. Hop bitterness is low, mostly overshadowed by the ginger's natural bite. A slow-building, clean chili heat from the Carolina Reaper emerges toward the finish, providing a spicy kick that lingers alongside a refreshing, off-dry fruitiness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a slightly crisp edge. Carbonation is moderate-high, enhancing the ginger's prickle. A noticeable capsaicin-driven warmth is present, distinct from alcohol warmth, yet remains smooth rather than harsh or astringent.
