Dieu du Ciel Immoralité
Immoralité is a formidable Double IPA that radiates a deep golden hue, delivering an intense sensory experience driven by an massive hop load. The profile is defined by a sharp, resinous bitterness that cuts through the palate, beautifully balanced by vibrant notes of tropical passion fruit and zesty candied lemon. While the hop character remains the protagonist, a subtle malt roundness provides a necessary foundation for the high hop intensity. At 9.2% ABV, a smooth, integrated alcohol warmth emerges on the finish, intertwining with the beer’s complex fruitiness to create a bold yet remarkably drinkable strong ale from Dieu du Ciel.
Appearance. Deep gold with shimmering golden reflections (SRM 6-8). Brilliant clarity with a moderate-sized, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent resinous pine, tropical passion fruit, and bright candied lemon peel. Supportive clean, grainy maltiness sits in the background. Neutral fermentation profile with a subtle, clean alcohol note.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of hop flavor mirroring the aroma with intense resin, passion fruit, and citrus zest. High bitterness is sharp and cutting but lacks harshness. Low, soft malt character provides a round mouthfeel to balance the hops. Finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering resinous and fruity aftertaste. Alcohol is present but smooth and well-integrated.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crispness that aids drinkability. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present without being hot or solventy.
