Die Brauhandwerker Daisy
Daisy is a bright and hop-forward American Pale Ale that lives up to its name with a refreshing, vibrant character. The aromatic profile is defined by the strategic use of Citra and Columbus hops, which deliver layers of zesty grapefruit, lime, and lemon peel alongside a distinctive herbal and resinous backbone. A lean, neutral malt foundation ensures the focus remains entirely on the fresh citrus aromatics. This beer strikes a harmonious balance between a clean, grainy sweetness and a firm bitterness, finishing crisp and dry. Appearance. Pale golden to deep gold (6–8 SRM) with brilliant clarity. It features a moderately large, dense white head with good retention and fine lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderately high hop aroma characterized by grapefruit, lime, and tangerine from the Citra, complemented by the spicy, earthy, and pine-like resin of Columbus. The malt is low and neutral, offering a light crackery or grainy scent that supports the hops without distraction.
Taste. Initial hop flavors of lemon, grapefruit, and resinous pine dominate the palate. The malt flavor is low and clean, providing a supportive but restrained bready base. Bitterness is moderate to high but well-integrated, leading to a medium-dry finish. The aftertaste is clean, featuring a lingering citrus zest and a pleasant, non-harsh bitterness.
