While adhering to the strength and structural expectations of the style, the interplay between the terpene-rich hops and the stone fruit esters from the yeast creates a deeply layered fruit experience. The finish is impressively clean for its 8% ABV, balancing a firm bitterness against a soft, supportive malt backdrop.
Appearance. Gold to light orange (7-9 SRM). Displays a moderate, persistent white head with excellent lacing. Though the style allows for clarity, this version shows a modern slight-to-moderate haze consistent with the yeast strain.
Aroma. Intense hop-forward aroma featuring prominent notes of lime oil, ripe peach, and fresh orange juice. Subtler notes of apricot and tropical fruit are contributed by the Vermont yeast esters. Malt is neutral and clean, providing a soft bready foundation without competing with the hops.
Taste. Initial impression is a wave of sticky citrus and stone fruit, specifically lime and caramelized peach. Hop flavor is very high, supported by a clean, soft grainy malt character. Bitterness is firm and assertive but lacks harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a long, lingering aftertaste of citrus rind and tropical fruit.
