Alegoria is a monumental British Strong Ale, a masterful blend aged in American and French oak. It presents a deep, layered complexity born from the fusion of Dark Wheatwine, Russian Imperial Stout, and Barleywine bases. The sensory profile is dominated by rich toffee, dark chocolate, and nutty malt notes, further elevated by the distinct influence of Cachaça barrels. Expect a decadent bouquet of vanilla, toasted coconut, and dried dark fruits like figs and raisins. On the palate, the immense strength is balanced by a velvety, viscous body, leading to a long, warming finish with elegant wood tannins and a refined sugarcane spirit character.
Appearance. Deep, dark reddish-brown to nearly opaque; low, light tan-colored head with modest retention and light lacing, expected for the extreme gravity.
Aroma. High intensity with complex layers of toffee, molasses, and dark chocolate. Prominent dried-fruit esters of raisin and plum are complemented by vanilla, toasted oak, and the distinct, slightly herbal sweetness of Cachaça. Low earthy hop notes remain in the background.
Taste. Initial impression is a rich, malty sweetness featuring nutty toffee, cocoa, and caramelized sugar.
