Deer Bear

This American IPA is a vibrant celebration of the West Coast style, delivering a sharp and refreshing sensory experience. The hop profile is complex, led by the tropical mango and papaya notes of Azacca and the exotic lychee and stone fruit of Krush. These are balanced by the unique pink grapefruit and resinous pine qualities of Talus, while Amarillo adds a bright layer of floral orange citrus. A lean, grainy malt backbone supports the intense bitterness, leading to a crisp, bone-dry finish. Brilliantly clear and gold-hued, it offers punchy, resinous aromatics and a clean fermentation profile that allows these modern hop varieties to shine.

Appearance. Deep gold (approx. 7-8 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of mango, guava, and lychee from Azacca and Krush. Distinctive notes of pink grapefruit and dried roses from Talus are layered over a bright orange citrus character from Amarillo. Low, clean, grainy malt sweetness supports the hops. Clean fermentation profile.

Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward and resinous. Strong flavors of tropical stone fruit and citrus zest dominate the palate. Malt flavor is low but provides a clean, slightly toasted base. Bitterness is medium-high to high, providing a firm structure. The finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering hoppy aftertaste of pine and grapefruit.

Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp bite. A light, pleasant alcohol warmth is noticeable but well-integrated.
