This American IPA showcases a vibrant, modern hop profile featuring Nelson Sauvin, Ekuanot, Michigan Cooper, and Futra. At 6% ABV, it presents an expressive bouquet of white grape, tropical papaya, and ripe stone fruit, underpinned by a subtle piney resin. The use of Michigan Cooper adds depth with notes of black pepper and berry, while Nelson Sauvin provides its signature gooseberry lift. A clean, lean malt bill allows these nuances to shine, leading to a crisp, decidedly bitter finish. It is a refreshing, hop-forward experience that balances New World fruitiness with a firm, drying structure.
Appearance. Medium gold (6-8 SRM) with a brilliant to very slight haze. Pours with a persistent, medium-sized, white frothy head that leaves intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma led by tropical fruit, white grape, and melon. Secondary notes of lime zest, papaya, and crushed gooseberry. Low, clean, grainy-sweet malt provides a neutral base. Fermentation is very clean with no significant esters.
Taste. High hop flavor mirroring the aroma with layers of stone fruit, citrus, and tropical berry. Bitterness is firm and medium-high, providing a sharp but clean counterpoint to the hop fruitiness. Malt flavor is low and cracker-like. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, crisp texture. Moderate-high carbonation provides a lively effervescence. Alcohol presence is well-integrated, offering only a very light, clean warmth.
