This American IPA delivers a vibrant hop-forward experience despite its approachable strength. The sensory profile is defined by a complex interplay of Citra and Mosaic, providing bright layers of grapefruit, blueberry, and tropical mango. These are complemented by the distinct passion fruit and strawberry notes of Strata, alongside a refreshing squeeze of lime from the Motueka hops. While maintaining a light and drinkable character, the beer offers a surprisingly soft, rounded texture. It finishes dry with a clean, supportive malt presence and a firm, lingering bitterness that highlights the New World hop selection.
Appearance. Medium gold (7 SRM) with a slight, inviting haze. Topped by a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves delicate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity aroma dominated by tropical fruit and citrus. Prominent notes of passion fruit, crushed lime, and mixed berries are supported by a background of resinous pine. A low, clean, grainy malt sweetness provides a neutral foundation, while fermentation esters remain very low and clean.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impression echoing the aroma with vivid splashes of mango, strawberry, and citrus zest. A low, grainy-sweet malt flavor balances the assertive, medium-high bitterness. The mid-palate reveals stone fruit and pine, leading to a crisp, dry finish with a clean, hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle on the tongue without any harshness or astringency. Alcohol warmth is absent, contributing to high drinkability.
