This German Pils offers a refreshing, contemporary twist on a classic style by incorporating the subtle, hydrating essence of watermelon. It maintains a traditional core of grainy-sweet Pilsner malt, evoking notes of toasted crackers and light honey. The herbal and spicy hop character provides a structured, firm backbone, which is gracefully softened by the juicy, fresh fruitiness of the watermelon. Brilliantly clear and highly attenuated, it delivers a crisp, dry finish with a flinty minerality. This lager balances high drinkability with a playful sensory profile, designed to be a chilling, worldly-wise old soul of a beer that excels in refreshment.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow (2–4 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, creamy, long-lasting white head and excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring grainy, doughy malt and light cracker notes. Traditional herbal and flowery hop aromas are present, accented by a distinct, clean, fresh watermelon fruitiness. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial malt flavors of sweet grain are quickly overtaken by a moderate to high hop bitterness and spicy hop flavors. The watermelon provides a subtle, refreshing fruit layer that persists into a dry, crisp finish. Minerally water character accentuates the lingering bitterness without becoming harsh.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation, providing a prickly and refreshing sensation. No alcohol warmth; exhibits a slight flinty sharpness that enhances the dry finish.
