Deeds Brewing Panacea
Imperial IPA 8 º
Panacea is a powerful Double IPA that showcases an intricate tapestry of modern hop character. The aroma is dominated by the vibrant citrus of Citra and the robust, tropical complexity of Mosaic, while Nectaron adds intense stone fruit and peach notes. On the palate, a clean, neutral malt base provides a supportive platform for layers of mango, grapefruit, and resinous pine. At 8% ABV, the beer delivers a smooth, integrated alcohol warmth that complements its dry finish. This is an intensely hoppy experience, balancing firm bitterness with a lush fruit profile, epitomizing the expressive and bold nature of the style.
Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light orange-copper with a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves consistent lacing. It displays good clarity, though a light, luminous haze is present from the significant dry-hop additions.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a complex blend of grapefruit, passion fruit, and mango. Nectaron introduces distinctive notes of ripe peach and nectarine. The malt character is restrained and neutral, offering a light crackery backdrop, while the fermentation profile is clean with a subtle, smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. An immediate and strong impact of tropical fruit and citrus oils. Bitter orange peel and pine resin transition into a succulent stone fruit mid-palate. Bitterness is moderately high and firm, providing structure without being harsh. The finish is dry, leaving a lingering hop-saturated aftertaste of tropical zest and resin.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle that helps cut through the hop oils. A refined, gentle alcohol warmth is noticeable but remains well-integrated, enhancing the overall fullness.

For those who aren't familiar, Cloudwater really pushed the envelope of what a Double IPA could be in the early days. They were early adopters of the haze craze and really drove it to popularity overseas which then had a ripple effect in Aus. Range is absolutely stoked and honoured to be the 3rd international collaboration.
Our aim for this collab IPA was to maximise the full-flavour liquid hop extracts, producing an abundance of aroma and a profound hop resin character. The outcome is a huge New Zealand-led bouquet of grape, lime, and gooseberry, complemented by lingering citrus and peach flavours on a dense resinous body that will have you savouring the intense, all-encompassing hop experience.
