This Imperial Stout presents an opulent sensory profile defined by its dessert-inspired additions. A potent aroma of toasted coconut and rich chocolate fudge dominates, harmonizing with the floral, creamy sweetness of Madagascar vanilla beans. The palate is profoundly dense, where the roast of dark malts meets layers of velvet cocoa and tropical nuttiness. At a robust strength, the alcohol provides a smooth, integrated warmth that elevates the luscious, chewy texture. It is a complex and harmonious beer, balancing charred grain bitterness against a lingering, pastry-like sweetness, resulting in a decadent and deeply satiating finish.
Appearance. Jet black (40+ SRM) and completely opaque. It pours with a thick, dark brown head with moderate retention; high viscosity is visible as legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of roasted malts, dark chocolate, and heavy toasted coconut. Madagascar vanilla beans provide a prominent, creamy sweetness that masks any sharp alcohol. Very low dark fruit esters (raisin).
Taste. Intense chocolate fudge and espresso-like roast flavors lead the palate, followed by a mid-palate saturated with sweet coconut and vanilla. Medium-high hop bitterness is present but remains supportive of the high residual sweetness. The finish is long and lingering with cocoa and smooth alcohol warmth.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, viscous, and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. Noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth is present without being harsh.
