De Struise Brouwers Arie is an elegant Belgian Blond Ale that balances artisanal complexity with a refreshing, approachable character. It presents a clean profile with a bright, grainy-sweet malt backbone reminiscent of Pilsner malt. The yeast expression delivers subtle notes of lemon peel and a whisper of peppery spice, hallmarks of a traditional Belgian Abbey-type strain. A distinct, crisp bitterness emerges in the mid-palate, elevating the refreshment factor. Appearance. Deep gold color (approximately 5-6 SRM). Generally very clear with a large, dense, and creamy white head showing excellent retention and thick Belgian lace.

Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring grainy-sweet and crackery malt. The yeast profile provides fruity-citrusy esters of orange and lemon with background peppery phenols. Light earthy hop notes and a faint perfumy alcohol sweetness suggest honey.

Taste. Initial grainy-sweet malt flavor followed by faint honey-like sweetness. Medium bitterness provides a clean, crispy balance. Moderate yeast character of orange esters and spicy-peppery phenols with light earthy hop flavor. Finishes medium-dry and smooth with a soft malt and alcohol aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with high carbonation providing a bubbly, mouth-filling sensation. Light, smooth alcohol warmth and a pleasant creaminess contribute to a multi-layered mouthfeel.
