This flagship Imperial Stout delivers an immense sensory experience, defined by an aggressive roast profile and deep complexity. True to its name, Hel & Verdoemenis presents saturated notes of dark chocolate and espresso-like coffee, amplified by a double-intensity approach to bitterness. Layers of black licorice, vanilla, and dark raisins emerge as the liquid warms, reflecting a sophisticated malt bill. At 10% ABV, the alcohol provides a steady, integrated warmth that supports the velvety, viscous texture. It is a harmonious yet intense interpretation of the style, balancing charred grain character with a lingering, bittersweet finish that highlights its incredible depth.

Appearance. Opaque jet black (40 SRM). Pours with a thick, creamy dark-tan head and displays high viscosity with visible legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and cocoa. Moderate esters suggest dark fruits like raisins and prunes, complemented by notes of black licorice and a hint of vanilla sweetness. Alcohol is noticeable but smooth.

Taste. Intense initial impression of dark chocolate and heavy roast, followed by deep espresso and charred grain. Aggressive bitterness is well-balanced by a rich malt backbone. Mid-palate reveals layers of licorice and dried fruit. The finish is long and bittersweet with a lingering roasty aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth is present throughout without being harsh.
