De Molen’s Heen & Weer presents a robust, amber-hued take on a Belgian Tripel, balancing a deep, sweet malt backbone with assertive, well-hopped bitterness. This Abbey Triple radiates a complex bouquet of ripe yellow fruits and bright citrus, layered with a distinct spicy coriander note and peppery yeast-derived phenols. At 9.2% ABV, the alcohol remains masterfully integrated, contributing a subtle warmth without overshadowing the intricate interplay of grainy-sweet Pilsner malt and floral hop aromatics. The experience culminates in a signature dry finish, where lingering fruity esters and a firm bitterness ensure a clean, surprisingly drinkable profile for its significant strength.

Appearance. Amber in color (approximately 7-9 SRM); features an abundant, long-lasting, creamy, and rocky white head with characteristic Belgian lacing. Generally clear with visible effervescence.

Aroma. High intensity with a seamless bouquet of moderate spiciness from coriander and peppery phenols. Moderate fruity esters suggesting ripe yellow fruit and citrus. Malt character is light and soft, with a slightly grainy-sweet or honey-like impression, complemented by a low floral hop presence.

Taste. Initial rounded malt flavor followed by a complex display of citrus and yellow fruit esters. Spicy coriander and peppery phenols are prominent in the mid-palate. High bitterness for the style (30-40 IBU range) provides a firm counterpoint to the malt. The finish is remarkably dry and clean, with a lingering spicy-fruity aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body, feeling lighter than the gravity suggests due to high carbonation and attenuation. Effervescent and smooth. Deceptive alcohol presence provides a soft, noticeable warmth without being harsh or fusel.
