This Belgian Dark Strong Ale is a massive collaboration showcasing a decadent interplay of dark fruit and barrel-influenced luxury. The aroma opens with intense notes of mission figs and deep caramel, layered over a foundation of spicy Belgian yeast phenols. Vanilla and cognac-soaked oak chips contribute a sophisticated dessert-like complexity, offering hints of leather and toasted wood. At 14% ABV, the palate is exceptionally rich and velvety, delivering flavors of dried plums and black cherries that meld seamlessly with the warmth of the spirit-aged character. It is a powerful, harmonious Quadrupel-style ale with a lingering, smooth, and boozy finish.

Appearance. Deep coppery-brown with garnet highlights; slightly hazy. Features a dense, creamy, tan-colored head with moderate retention and significant lacing upon swirling.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by rich, bready-toasty malt and dark caramel. Pronounced esters of dried figs and raisins are complemented by sweet vanilla and a distinct boozy, perfume-like cognac presence from the wood chips. Subtle peppery phenols are present in the background.

Taste. Initial impression is deeply malty and sweet, featuring layers of dark fruit, specifically figs and dates. The vanilla adds a creamy sweetness, while the oak chips provide a dry, woody structure that balances the malt richness. Bitterness is medium-low, allowing the high alcohol and oak tannins to provide the primary balance. The finish is long, warming, and moderately sweet.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a creamy, coating texture. Carbonation is moderate. Significant alcohol warmth is present but remains smooth rather than harsh. Low astringency from the oak chips.
