This refreshing Saison presents a delicate interplay between traditional farmhouse character and a whisper of rustic smoke. At a sessionable strength, it opens with bright aromas of cracked black pepper and zesty citrus, underpinned by a subtle, savory smoke veil that enhances the grainy malt profile. The palate is exceptionally dry and highly attenuated, featuring lean pome fruit esters and a firm, earthy bitterness. Effervescent and crisp, the light-bodied mouthfeel carries a fleeting hint of campfire through to a clean, spicy finish. It is a nuanced, social-minded ale where the smoky element adds a layer of complexity without overshadowing the style’s hallmark yeast-driven vibrancy.
Appearance. Pale gold (approx. 5 SRM). Large, rocky, persistent white head with significant lacing. Unfiltered and moderately hazy.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a prominent mix of peppery yeast phenols and citrusy esters. A subtle, clean smoke character provides a savory depth, complementing a light, crackery malt base. Low earthy hop notes are present in the background.
Taste. A balance of fruity citrus and spicy black pepper fermentation notes with a distinct but restrained smoky undertone. Malt flavor is low and grainy. The finish is very dry with a lingering hop bitterness and spicy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light-bodied with very high, effervescent carbonation. No alcohol warmth is perceived, resulting in a crisp and highly refreshing texture.

De brouwerij creëert om de drie jaar een nieuw bier en kiest bij elk nieuw bier een nieuw sociaal project. 10% van de omzet van dit bier wordt gedurende die periode aan het project geschonken. Sinds 2018 gaat de bijdrage naar het Project KINDIA. Een project dat kinderen in India helpt om waardig onderwijs te genieten. Het kunstwerk is ontworpen door Robin Vermeersch.
