Mudskipper V20 presents a vivid sensory experience, channeling the essence of a modern Hazy IPA into a non-alcoholic format. The aromatic profile is dominated by the expressive Talus hops, offering distinct notes of pink grapefruit and floral dried roses, complemented by the ripe apricot and resinous piney undertones of Idaho 7. Visually, it is deeply hazy with a luminous straw-to-gold hue. The palate is defined by layers of tropical stone fruit and citrus, supported by a soft, bready malt base. Despite its zero-alcohol nature, it maintains a smooth mouthfeel and a restrained, juicy bitterness that lingers pleasantly without any harshness.
Appearance. Color is a pale straw with a luminous, opaque haze. It features a medium-sized, rocky white head with excellent retention and significant lacing left on the glass as it recedes.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pink grapefruit, dried rose petals, and sage from the Talus additions, backed by apricot and citrus peel from Idaho 7. The malt presence is low, offering a clean, grainy, and slightly bready background without any toasted or caramel notes.
Taste. The flavor is massively hop-forward, leading with juicy tropical fruit, pink grapefruit, and stone fruit. Malt flavors are low and neutral, providing a soft bready foundation that allows the Talus and Idaho 7 hop characters to shine. Perceived bitterness is low to moderate, well-integrated and never sharp. The finish is off-dry and smooth, with a lingering citrus and floral aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body, which is impressive for a non-alcoholic version of this style. Carbonation is moderate. The texture is smooth and soft on the palate, lacking any astringency or harshness, and providing a clean, refreshing sensation with zero alcohol warmth.
