Dark Revolution

This modern American Lager bridges the gap between clean fermentation tradition and bold hop experimentation. Fermented crisp and smooth with a house pilsner yeast, it delivers a vibrant sensory profile more reminiscent of a craft pale ale. High-intensity aromatics of tropical fruit and lime zest from Citra and Motueka lead the way, supported by the distinctive crushed grape and gooseberry notes of Nelson cryo. Mosaic adds a subtle layer of berry complexity in the background. Despite the heavy dry hopping, the beer maintains a refreshingly lean and snappy character, showcasing the bright hop oils against a neutral, crackery malt base.

Appearance. Pale straw to light yellow (2-3 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a bright white, frothy head that shows moderate persistence and light lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring grapefruit, passionfruit, and lime from Citra and Motueka, alongside vinous white wine notes from Nelson. Low grainy, crackery malt aroma. Clean fermentation profile with no esters or phenols.

Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with flavors of citrus peel, gooseberry, and tropical fruit. Very low grainy malt sweetness that is quickly overtaken by a medium-low bitterness. The balance is hop-centric but remains crisp. Finishes very dry and clean with lingering notes of lime and white grape.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation providing a refreshing carbonic bite. Smooth, crisp texture with no astringency and a very light alcohol warmth.
