Steamy Showers is a vibrant Hazy IPA that exemplifies the lush, juicy character of modern hop-forward ales. The aromatic profile is led by Citra, delivering bright waves of tangerine and lychee, while the addition of HBC-586 introduces deep, saturated notes of mango and guava. Nelson Sauvin provides a sophisticated nuance of crushed white grape and gooseberry, cutting through a soft, bready malt base. It pours with a beautiful opaque glow and a pillowy white head, offering a smooth, rounded mouthfeel that carries intense tropical flavors into a clean, low-bitterness finish. At 7% ABV, it balances significant fruit intensity with refreshing drinkability.
Appearance. SRM 4-6; deep straw to light gold with a distinctively opaque, hazy glow. Features a dense, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by mango, guava, and passion fruit from HBC-586 and Citra, complemented by the white wine and gooseberry character of Nelson Sauvin. Low bready malt notes persist in the background with a clean, slightly fruity fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit juice. High hop flavors of citrus, stone fruit, and white grape are supported by a low, grainy-sweet malt character. Perceived bitterness is low-medium and soft, never harsh. The finish is off-dry and smooth with a lingering fruit cocktail aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Moderate carbonation. Alcohol presence is well-integrated, providing a very light, pleasant warmth without astringency.
