Dangerous Ales

Nelson Ha-Ha is a vibrant Hazy IPA that celebrates the unique profile of Nelson Sauvin hops. This 7.2% ABV ale pours with a distinctive golden haze, radiating intense aromas of crushed gooseberry, passion fruit, and sun-ripened nectarine. The Nelson Sauvin contribution is unmistakable, offering a sophisticated blend of tropical intensity and white wine elegance, finished with a subtle, resinous dash of dankness. On the palate, the hop-forward character is supported by a soft, grainy malt backbone, leading to a smooth, silk-like texture. It balances juicy fruit saturation with a restrained bitterness, ensuring a clean, modern finish that highlights the hops' complexity.

Appearance. Deep gold (approx. 6 SRM); hazy, opaque appearance with a luminous shine. Pours with a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by passion fruit, nectarine, and white grape. Secondary citrus notes and a light resinous dankness are present. Malt is low and neutral, providing a light bready or grainy foundation. Fermentation character is clean with subtle fruity esters that complement the hop profile.

Taste. Initial impression is a wave of juicy tropical fruit and stone fruit. High hop flavor featuring nectarine, citrus, and the signature Nelson Sauvin white-wine character. Malt flavor is low to medium-low, tasting of fresh grain. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as soft and integrated. The finish is off-dry and smooth, avoiding any hop harshness or astringency.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, smooth, silk-like texture. Carbonation is moderate. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being hot. No raw starch or acidic twang.
