This American IPA is a vibrant showcase of NZ hops, delivering an aromatic explosion reminiscent of a fresh fruit salad. Intense notes of sun-ripened pineapple, zesty citrus, and tropical passionfruit lead the sensory experience, layered over a medley of lush stone fruit and a subtle, resinous dash of dankness. Despite its robust 7.5% ABV, the profile remains approachable with a surprisingly mild bitterness that balances the hop-forward character. Appearance. Deep gold to pale amber (7–9 SRM) with a slight, modern haze. Features a medium-sized, persistent white head with moderate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics dominated by tropical NZ hops. Prominent pineapple and passionfruit are complemented by bright citrus and ripe peach. A low, clean, grainy malt scent provides a steady foundation with no significant yeast esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit salad including pineapple and passionfruit. The mid-palate reveals stone fruit and citrus zest, followed by a distinctive dash of dankness. Bitterness is moderate and smooth rather than aggressive, supporting a clean, grainy malt base. Finishes medium-dry with a lingering fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a notable silky, smooth texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the strength without any harshness or astringency.
