Dancing Gnome Double Lustra Lab

This Double IPA, a collaborative evolution of Dancing Gnome’s flagship, centers on an amplified expression of Citra hops. It delivers an intense aromatic profile of bright mango, pulpy orange, and pink grapefruit, underpinned by a lean, neutral malt base. Despite its 8.5% strength, the beer maintains high drinkability with a clean fermentation profile and a focused bitterness that provides structure without harshness. The result is a vibrant, fruit-forward experience where the lush tropical notes of the Citra hops dominate from the first sniff through to the dry, lingering finish, staying true to the aromatic intent of the original Lab series.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale orange (SRM 7) with a moderate-sized, persistent white head that leaves fine-textured lacing. Features a slight haze consistent with heavy modern dry-hopping, though it remains translucent.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by Citra, showcasing layers of mango, lychee, and fresh citrus zest. Background notes of light, cracker-like malt are present; fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters and a subtle, well-integrated alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial punch of tropical fruit and citrus oils; mango and grapefruit flavors are prominent. High bitterness is firm but smooth, balancing a restrained, grainy malt profile. The finish is dry to medium-dry, leaving a long-lasting impression of resinous hop character and clean citrus peel without being heavy or sweet.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a soft, smooth texture and no harsh hop-derived astringency. Carbonation is medium to medium-high. A noticeable but restrained alcohol warmth reflects its strength without being solventy.
