This collaborative Imperial Stout from Cycle and Monkish presents an immensely decadent, full-bodied sensory experience. The barrel-aged profile is defined by a deep, dark chocolate backbone that harmonizes with intense notes of caramelized banana, likely derived from the interplay of specialty malts and extended aging. Its massive viscosity creates a luscious, coating texture on the palate. Aromas of cocoa, rich toffee, and a hint of vanilla from the wood complement the roast-forward character. Despite its 12% strength, the alcohol is well-integrated, providing a smooth, warming finish that lingers with bittersweet chocolate and ripe fruit complexity.
