This masterful Imperial Stout presents an opulent sensory journey, shaped by an intricate blend of Eagle Rare, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, and Old Forrester Birthday Bourbon 2020 barrels. The integration of Woodford Reserve Masters Collection Chocolate Rye barrel aging introduces a distinct spicy, cocoa-driven depth characteristic of the rye grain. Aromas of dark chocolate, espresso, and charred oak meld with decadent notes of vanilla and caramel. On the palate, the rich, velvety malt base supports layers of black cherry and licorice, while the diverse bourbon influences provide a sophisticated spirituous warmth. It is a harmonious, full-bodied experience where the spicy rye and toasted oak finish with a lingering, bittersweet complexity.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (SRM 40+). Pours with a dense, persistent dark brown head that leaves thick lacing. High viscosity is evident by the prominent legs trailing down the glass after swirling.

Aroma. High intensity. Complex layers of bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee, and charred grain. Deep esters of dried figs and black currants. The barrel aging contributes intense vanilla, spicy rye, toasted oak, and a rich bourbon bouquet. Low hop presence. Smooth, well-integrated alcohol without solvent notes.

Taste. Initial impression of rich, dark malts and sweet bourbon. Flavors of espresso, dark chocolate, and spicy rye dominate the palate. Mid-palate reveals black cherry and plum esters. Firm bitterness from roasted grains and hops provides balance against the high residual sweetness. The finish is long and warming with a lingering bittersweet cocoa and toasted oak character.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally viscous with a thick, chewy, velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, noticeable alcohol warmth is present and well-integrated, providing a comforting heat without being harsh or astringent.
