Curaka Pale Ale
This American Pale Ale presents a robust sensory profile driven by a 7.5% ABV and a sophisticated hop bill. Intense aromas of tangerine and grapefruit from Cascade hops meld with tropical mango notes, while Crystal hops contribute a delicate floral layer. The malt foundation, featuring Munich Dark and Caramel pils, provides a sturdy, toasty backbone that balances the mild 28 IBU bitterness. A touch of Best Black Malt deepens the hue to a rich amber, supporting a complex interplay of resinous Columbus hops and stone fruit esters derived from the S-04 yeast. It remains surprisingly approachable despite its elevated strength and malt complexity.
Appearance. Deep amber to light copper (approximately 11 SRM) with excellent clarity. Topped by a moderately large, off-white head with good persistence and light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit, tangerine, and tropical mango. Secondary notes of meadow flowers and light pine. The malt character is moderate, showcasing toasted bread, light caramel, and a hint of biscuit. Low fruity esters are present.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of citrus and tropical fruit. The malt flavor is supportive and moderately firm, offering notes of toasted crust and honeyed sweetness from the Munich Dark and Caramel pils. Hop bitterness is moderate-low and well-integrated. The finish is balanced and smooth, with lingering notes of grapefruit peel and floral spice from Crystal hops. Clean fermentation with subtle pear-like esters.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A noticeable but gentle alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the 7.5% ABV without being solventy or harsh.

Esta Pale Ale nos pareció la que mejor logra balancear e integrar estas características en una cerveza. Aroma afrutado, como de durazno y ligeramente floral, producto de las frutas añadidas en su cocción. En boca es ligeramente dulce sin llegar a ser empalagosa. Muy fácil de tomar a pesar sus 7 grados de alcohol. Sin duda una Pale Ale que sale de lo común.
