This Ordinary Bitter offers a rich sensory journey, balancing deep malt complexity with traditional English hops. The pour reveals a persistent, fine-beaded foam over an amber body. Aromatically, it presents a bouquet of floral nectar and wallflower, layered with evocative notes of quince jelly, ripe murtilla, and dates. Kent Goldings and Fuggles hops contribute a distinctively earthy character rather than citrus. On the palate, a creamy texture carries bready malt and a whisper of chocolate, culminating in a complex, increasing bitterness. It remains exceptionally balanced and highly drinkable, finishing with a lingering, clean earthy hop presence.

Appearance. Deep amber to light copper color (10-14 SRM). Brilliant clarity. Generous, fine-textured, off-white head with exceptional persistence and lacing.

Aroma. Moderate intensity with a complex malt profile featuring bread, light toast, and a hint of chocolate. Distinctive floral notes of wallflower and nectar are joined by fruity esters of quince jelly, murtilla, and dates. Moderate earthy hop aroma.

Taste. Initial impression is malty and fruity. Bready malt flavors and syrupy sweetness are balanced by an increasing earthy hop bitterness. Complex notes of dark fruit and floral nectar lead to a well-integrated finish where roasted malt and hop bitterness merge. Highly balanced with a clean, dry aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a notable creaminess. Very good, highly integrated carbonation with fine bubbles. Subtle alcohol warmth. No astringency or harshness.
