This Specialty IPA presents a sensory bridge between roasted malt depth and the tropical vibrance of El Dorado hops. A dark brown pour with a persistent tan head leads to a high-intensity aroma of pineapple, mango, and lemon zest, underscored by a peppery rye spice. The palate delivers a firm bitterness with citrus and stone fruit flavors, supported by a toasted malt backbone that remains clean and devoid of heavy roast or ash. The rye adds a distinctive spicy character and a smooth, silky mouthfeel, concluding with a crisp, dry finish and lingering hop-driven resin.
Appearance. Dark brown color (approx. 32 SRM). Clear with a moderate, persistent tan head and light lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring pineapple, mango, and lemon zest from El Dorado. Moderate spicy and peppery malt character from the rye adjunct, with very low toasted bread notes. Clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial tropical fruit and citrus hop flavor. Low toasted malt flavor with a prominent peppery rye character. Medium-high bitterness that is firm and well-balanced. Dry finish with a clean, lingering hop bitterness and a hint of spice.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, slightly silky texture. Moderate carbonation. Light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. No astringency.
